Breeding for Loyalty & Love
Who we are
We're Tamaria and Greg Hartman, the proud owners of Mykiss Labradors—where our passion, purpose, and the Pacific Northwest spirit come together.
Nestled in rural western Washington near Olympia, our kennel sits on seven acres rich with wildlife. Here, we share our home with a couple of horses, a barn cat, and—of course—our beloved Labradors.
Why we breed
We're preservation breeders, committed to maintaining the integrity, temperament, and soundness that define the Labrador Retriever. Every pairing is intentional—focused on continuing our pedigree lineage and upholding breed standards—not simply producing puppies for sale. Our goal is to honor the Labrador's heritage while shaping its future, one generation at a time.

Our success
Our breeding program has produced Labrador Retrievers that embody the true essence of the breed—sound in structure, stable in temperament, and versatile in purpose. Our dogs have achieved success in the field, excelled in the show ring, and, most importantly, enriched the lives of their families as loyal companions. We're proud to be recognized as both an AKC Breeder of Merit and an AKC Breeder with HEART.
Experience in
With nearly 20 years of breeding experience, our commitment to the Labrador Retriever runs deep. As proud participants in the Labrador community, we're actively involved with several local clubs: Rose City Labrador Retriever Club, Mount Rainier Labrador Retriever Club, and Puget Sound Labrador Retriever Association—as well as the national Labrador Retriever Club.
What's in a name?
Our kennel name, "Mykiss" is drawn from the species name for Steelhead or rainbow trout—Oncorhynchus mykiss—a prized game fish native to the Pacific Northwest that we enjoy fishing. See our catch and more.
